Sudi Urges Shift from Street Protests to Nation Building

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi addresses the media, urging Kenyans to embrace peace, unity and constitutional means of resolving disputes. Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County. July 19, 2026.

MP Oscar Sudi has challenged Kenyans, particularly the youth, to shun violence and embrace productive engagement, saying lasting national progress depends on peace, unity and adherence to the Constitution.

Speaking during a press briefing at his Kapseret residence on Sunday, Sudi urged citizens to uphold law and order despite the country’s heightened political environment, stressing that national challenges should be addressed through constitutional and democratic means.

The legislator cautioned against acts of violence and destruction of property, saying such actions undermine the country’s stability and derail efforts to foster economic growth and development.

Sudi defended the government’s handling of recent national issues, maintaining that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains focused on implementing development programmes aimed at improving the welfare of citizens across the country.

He called on political leaders to exercise restraint in their public statements, urging them to promote dialogue and national cohesion instead of deepening political divisions through inflammatory rhetoric.

Addressing the youth, the Kapseret lawmaker encouraged them to channel their energy into entrepreneurship, innovation and other productive economic activities, noting that they have a critical role to play in driving the country’s development agenda.

He said safeguarding peace and respecting the rule of law remain essential for sustaining investor confidence, creating employment opportunities and accelerating the country’s socio-economic transformation.

Sudi’s remarks come amid heightened political debate over governance, accountability and the state of the economy, with leaders from across the political divide continuing to express differing views on the country’s direction.
